Native Addictions Council of Manitoba

Declaration of Self-Esteem

For each program, participants are encouraged to state both in writing and in words what their needs, wants and goals are. This spring, one of our Outreach groups created their "Declaration of Self-Esteem". This fall another group created their own "Declaration of Self-Esteem".

"On behalf of the National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation (NNAPF), we would like to celebrate your success. NNAPF is focused on cultivating and empowering relationships to uphold cultural strengths and identity to promote holistic and healthy communities.

The National Native Addiction Partnership Foundation is a non-governmental organization that was established in 2000 with membership from all regions of Canada and 3 national organizations. NNAPF advocates for Inuit and First Nations culturally-based addictions services. NNAPF is committed to developing capacity through policy and research, providing support and advocacy on emerging issues and raising awareness among mainstream providers about the nature and extent of substance abuse. NNAPF has nine staff, located in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

NNAPF would like the opportunity to recognize your treatment centre and the many contributions your centre has made to the community. It is our intention to highlight each centres various milestones, anniversaries and accomplishments through our national newsletter Roots and our Roots e-zine.

NNAPF provides objective, culturally-based and relevant information and advice aimed at supporting the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP) and the National Youth Solvent Addiction Program (YSAP). These national addiction programs include 55 residential treatment centres and over 500 community-based addictions prevention programs.

National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation applauds your ability to keep culture thriving and be keeping a strong heritage by preserving the traditions of your community.
